My Busy Break

During my winter break, I spent the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon with my dad like always. We went to church, ate lunch with his girlfriend and hung around together. Then he took me and my brother home.

Monday my mom, aunt and I all went dress shopping for a pageant I’m in. After That I spent the night with my aunt. She did my hair, we watched tv and I played with the dogs.

Tuesday one of my friends mom took me and my brother to this fun arcade close to where we use to live. Then we all went to the mall and just walked around. Tuesday evening she took us to our grandmothers house and we spent the night.

Wednesday morning we went out to eat and then when my mom got off of work she came to pick us up. We just sat around the house and watched netflix for the rest of the evening.

Our Future Friday Speaker…Leesa Copeland

This Friday our speaker was Leesa Copeland, and she works at the Haralson Nursing Home. She talked all about the different jobs and tasks that one must do if they work there. I never knew that in nursing homes they only had one birthday for every birthday that month. It was really cool and interesting to learn about the Nursing Home. I learned that the people living there can’t have medication in their rooms. I also learned that it can be a sad job to some, but for others it is the best job you could have. I however don’t believe that I would like to work at a nursing home, but I wouldn’t mind volunteering.

Work Ethics: 8 to be great.

Last week we spent some time learning about the 8 To Be Great wheel and we watched videos about it too. We graded ourselves 1-7 on Passion, Work, Focus, Push, Ideas, Improve, Serve, and Persist

Then we made our improvement plans. My highest 8 To Be Great work ethic areas were passion and ideas because I know what I’m passionate about and because I have so many ideas on how to help improve the way my, hopefully, future career works. My lowest 8 To Be Great work ethic is improvement because I don’t really like to push myself. I stop at good and I don’t try to make it better. I think that the 8 To Be Great wheel really helps with figuring out how to help yourself become successful and evaluating where you need to grow and improve yourself.

What I want to be when i grow up…

When i grow up i want to be in Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security Cluster. I want to follow the Law Enforcement Services Pathway. My second choice is the Health Science Cluster, and there are so many different Nursing and therapy pathways I have not decided on which one to follow yet. My third choice is Human Services Cluster, the Personal Care Services – Cosmetology Pathway. I really would like to have a major in Law and possible I would like to get another major in Nursing. It would be so cool if I could double major.
